Mimiko loses his special adviser on Political Matters and Mobilization to APC

Two prominent political aides to the embattled Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko resigned from their positions on Wednesday.

Oladun Aderonke Morolayo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, and Victor Ojo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization, tendered their resignation letters on Wednesday and defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 26 Ondo State gubernatorial election.

It was gathered that the two were leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in their respective constituencies in the State before their resignations.

Ondo State APC spokesperson Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya confirmed the defection of the duo in a telephone chat with a SaharaReporters correspondent.

Mr. Adesanya said that the two former PDP stalwarts were received by the APC camp at the Rotimi Akeredolu governorship campaign office in Akure.

"Agboola Ajayi, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, received both Oladun and Ojo to the party. They were received at the Akeredolu campaign office as bona fide members of All Progressives Congress family,” Mr. Adesanya said.

The spokesperson added that he urged the new APC members to “work assiduously” to ensure that Mr. Akeredolu is elected governor in the Ondo State gubernatorial election.
