Super Eagles move up in new FIFA ranking



Super Eagles line up ahead of Zambia clash played earlier this month

Gernot Rohr’s side are now the 60th best team in the world having occupied the 64th position in the previous rankings.

A major reason for the improvement is the 2 – 1 victory over Zambia in a 2018 World Cup Qualifier played earlier this month.
The team also improved their standings as the 11th best in Africa

Nigeria’s next opponent at for the 2018 World Cup qualifying series Algeria are ranked the third best team in Africa, but remain 35th in the world.

Current Africa Cup of Nations holder Cote d’Ivoire moved up three spots to 31st and the number one team in Africa.

However, Argentina remain the best team in the world, followed by Germany who move up one spot. Brazil are third while Belgium and Colombia occupy the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
